The New Shinsengumi headquartes..One room set aside for lounging around. One member of the group was taking full advantage of the time away from blood and bodies. Maika was sprawled across a bamboo long chair, his eyes shut and hair dangling over his eyelids and forehead. He wore black practice pants as he always does and a sleeveless red tunic. "So bored.." he groaned to himself. It had been days since he was given a mission and the boredom was killing the ninja. Despite his body’s need for sleep, the male’s mind was racing around for things to do. He had already practiced most of the day and found himself bored of everything there was left to do. “I could go shadow someone around the headquarters..” he murmured. A laughed escaped his lips, “But who should the lucky person be..”

Kohana sighed angrily as she stormed into the room. She had been looking for a good percentage of the people in this room all day and was not exactly in a good mood after running all over the Aomori estate. "Where have you all been?" she snapped, glaring at each of the people in the room in turn. She crossed her arms across her chest, impatientence written all over her face. Narrowing her eyes, she scanned the room.
"I have been looking for you all for ages." Kohana continued ranting, throwing her hands in the air. She leaned against the wall, waiting for someone to give her a worthwhile excuse to why they weren't where Kohana had thought they would. The young leader was not in a very good mood at the moment and was probably going to blow up in someone didn't reply to her question right now.

Maika opened his eyes slowly dragging himself into the sitting position. He yawned and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He waited for Kohana to finish knowing she'd probably slit his throat if he interrupted her. "Most of us have been here the whole time.." Maika began not seeing anyone else volunteer to explain anything to their leader. "We haven’t been given a mission all day. What else are we supposed to do?" Maika rubbed his tricep absent mindedly,” Why, what do you need?" After all, the ninja needed something do other than die of boredom. More alert now, Maika hadn’t realized how many people were actually in the room.

"Well, there has been nothing urgent that has called for me to give it to you as a mission. If you want a mission so badly, Maika-kun, why don't you go help in kitchen?" Kohana said, glaring at Maika. She sighed and sat down in one of the extravangant seats, pushing someone else out of the seat in the process. She crossed her legs slightly which was difficult in the fancy kimono she was wearing. She brushed the front of the elaborate robe off and adjusted her geta which were slidding off.
"I needed to know what information all of my spies have gathered so I can plan the next attack. No one has really been reporting to me lately and that is how I come up with missions. You have anything you would like to share relating to that topic, Maika?" Kohana asked, smirking slightly.

"Agh.." Maika groaned falling back into the couch. "You have enough people in the kitchen working.." he decided raising his head to look at Kohana,"Besides, I do not want to know what is in the food. I just eat it and try not to think about what it could be made of.." He looked over at a small pile of thin papers, each one with names and information.
Maika's head motioned toward the small stack,” There’s my information your majesty.." he replied back to Kohana. "Relating to said topic I would like to say your missions are boring.. None of them are even a challenge anymore!" Maika stopped himself feeling a rant coming on..

"Really? If that is the way you feel, I guess I should give you one of my most difficult missions possible and watch you struggle with it hopelessly. Is that what you want, Maika, because if it is, it can be arranged." Kohana replied, curtly, her eyes full of mirth as she said this. She got up and walked over to Maika then she took the information and looked over it, flipping through each page, a look of boredom on her face. "You call this quality information?" she snapped finally, waving the stack of paper in the air dramatically before resuming looking through it.
"So what would you like to do for a mission if you find the ones I give you so boring? Maybe there is a reason I am not giving you very challenging missions." Kohana said, smirking slightly as she continued to look over the information, enjoying agruing with someone after being very bored for a whole afternoon.

Maika stared at Kohana, a smile forming on the corners on his lips,” I’d rather take a job and struggle and stand around here bored.." he looked at the papers, he knew all the information Kohana wanted was written down in detail.
He sat up thinking about what kind of mission he would enjoy,” Well, spying is too boring, you shadow someone for hours and write down who they talk to and what they do...Hitman..Boring, none of the targets fight back! There's no struggle!" He sat back motioning to the papers,” And all the targets and mission details are in that pile. I was so bored I even alphabetized them!"

Kohana gave Maika a suspcious look as he said that he had alphabetized the files. She looked back down at the files and began to flip through them, biting her lip. God, they are alphabetized. Maybe he does have a lot of time on his hands. Hm. What should I give him to do? she thought, looking up slightly from the files and Maika. She sighed in annoyance and put the files back down.
"Well, if you think that this is so boring why don't you just go join the Meji Government? I hear that their soldiers get loads of excitement, being sacrificed at the front lines for their ideals. Sounds very promising and much better than actually being treated like a human in a nice mansion in which you are paid to carry out work for me. I must be so horrible to let you all stay here when you all can be dead on a war ground somewhere." Kohana replied, sarcastically, rolling her eyes.

Maika stared at her, a blank look through her speech. "Sounds like fun.." With that, the ninja stood up grabbing the mask off the table. He stood up and headed for the door. Maika always considered himself one of Kohana's best spies and assassins, whether it was true or not, he wasn't sure. Relying on the skill he was pretty sure he had, Maika waved to the men in the room, looked Kohana over, and left. He wrapped the mask around his face letting the remaining fabric sway at the level of his shoulder blades. 'Psh..Like I'd ever join the Meji government. They’re a bunch of monkeys..' he thought to himself with a smile. Still, he hoped his bluff would give Kohana concern and maybe a more challenging mission.

Kohana raised her eyebrows and watched Maika walk off. She sighed and sat down in his seat, leaning back slightly. She crossed her feet anxiously and tried to figure out what to do. She scratched the back of her foot with her other. Like he would actually leave. she thought though she was anxious about the whole thing. Maika was one of her best and most trusted assassins. Plus, he could leak information to the Meji government about their location.
At the thought of someone leaking information, Kohana's head shot up from its spot on the head cushion of the chair. She quickly got up, wobbling slightly on her geta sandals and then she took off after Maika, her eyes narrowed.
"If you even think about leaving, I will kill you........You are staying here. I just might have a mission for you somewhere. What kinda mission are you interested in?" Kohana said quickly, glaring at Maika and crossing her arms across her chest.

Maika stopped as Kohana's threat echoed down the hallway to him. He turned to look over his shoulder at her in disbelief,” Kill an assassin..? What are you thinking!?" he turned around, a pleasing look in his eyes," Oh, now you are ready to compromise..?"
Maika walked over to her looking at the men leaning out of the doorway trying to hear their conversation. He tapped his pointer finger against his chin as he thought. What would he want in a mission? A stronger person to kill? Someone easier maybe?
"I want someone who has a fighting chance against me.." he finally said in a serious tone to Kohana. "All your other targets never even saw me coming.."

"Do not forget I can fight also. I could kill you easily God, do I really look that helpless." Kohana muttered, rolling her eyes. She sighed and leaned against the wall, letting her head hit the elaborately painted wall. She shifted her feet slightly and looked over at Maika.
"Business hasn't exactly been booming lately. I could come up with something for you, I guess, though I can't gurantee that you will survive." Kohana remarked, a small smirk appearing on her pale lips. She looked over at him briefly, wondering what she would do if he was killed. I'll just have to get another assassin. Hm. That could be arranged..... she thought sighing. She blinked and finally continued "How does another assassin sound? Someone who has really been annoying me lately. You up for it?".

Maika laughed again,” I doubt you'd stand a chance against me.." how the male ego skyrockets when challenged by a female.. He pulled out a kunai spinning it out of boredom. From his throat, Maika let out a growl as he looked at the men still trying to overhear the conversation. He knew they might try to earn brownie points with their leader by taking out the target before Maika could. Of course, they could also get hurt which was something Maika didn’t want.
He thingyed his head to one side,” I don't recall ever asking you for a target I would survive from.." He caught the kunai listening to her words,” You’ve been targeted by an assassin?" Loyalty was another strong aspect of Maika's personality. "Who?" he asked in an almost angry and impatient tone. "Yea, I'm up for it.."

Kohana looked over at her other assassins, spies, and employees in general. She sighed as she realized each one of their faces held the same eager look. She shoot a glare in their direction and then looked back over at Maika.
"I'd like to see you try. You know you don't have enough guts to try to kill me. Then you would be without a job and would have to wander off aimlessly in search of another. Plus, admit it, you at least like me a little bit." Kohana said with a bit of sarcasm in her voice. She smirked plesantly and got up from her position against the wall.
"Yeah, I've been targetted. Someone figured out that the Aomori widow is housing many an outlaw in her husband's old mansion. They connected the dots and figured out what was going on. Someone has been following me around when I go to the market in town and I have already found evidence of posion in some of the usual food I buy. Well, actually, one of the maids found it when she feed some to the dogs...." Kohana said, the last sentence as a slight after thought.
"Anyways, he or she is a ninja due to their techniques. I think I may know who they are, no gurantees though. This mission may take a while." the young leader said, shrugging.

Maika squished his pointer finger with his thumb leaving only a small gap,"I like you this much.." he listened eargly and set the kunai back in its pouch.
"Besides, you know I'm too loyal to betray you or anyone else here..." Afterall, it was this group that welcomed him with open arms. Maika cracked his knuckles and looked concerned at Kohana. "Why didn't you tell me this when it started?"
Immedietly in his mind Maika was making a list of things he had to do. He had to find out who was following Kohana, kill them, and he had now found himself something to do at night; guard the room where Kohana slept to ensure their leader was safe.
